Rinsy Ansalam is the CEO and Managing Director of Bourse Africa Limited, Mauritius.
He has over 19 years of experience spanning into exchange markets, derivatives, warehouse receipts system, information technology, private equity and business consulting.
Majority of the projects and assignments during the 19 years were start-up and/or unique in nature which includes India's first international commodity exchange (International Commodity Exchange Division of India Pepper and Spice Trade Association, Kochi), India's first independent clearing house to clear and guarantee commodity futures contracts (First Commodities Clearing Corporation of India Limited, Kochi), a technology company venturing into the commodity exchange space (Financial Technologies India Limited, Mumbai), setting up India's first private sector owned national commodity exchange (Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited, Mumbai) and setting up of an electronic warehouse receipts system in Dubai (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, Dubai).
These organizations gave the opportunities in conceiving new business ideas; structuring the business model for implementation including ownership and operational structures; application of information technology; and in structuring monetization of such ideas. Also, these assignments have given significant exposure into the legal structures pertinent to the business areas.
In 1999, consulting assignments pertinent to warehouse receipts system, clearing houses and training projects for commodity markets that were jointly undertook by Forward Markets Commission (Federal Regulator for India's commodity derivatives markets) and the World Bank have given the exposure to legal and operational structures of various market infrastructures those were the subject of the consulting assignments.
He has strong interest in agriculture, agriculture markets and its reforms; and strongly believe that sustainable agriculture is the key for economic development of rural India.
